The Indian red in the later years was a slight variation of the early color.  It is noticeable to both the experienced novice as well as the experts.  I suppose its just a choice of preference.

Through NAPA store, code reads:

 56-20981 00(C) Code 99

This is for a Base coat / Clear coat system.

This paint was also used on 1958 to 1977 Austin’s.

The answer is Damask Red.

It is a direct color match for my 1926 Chief.  It was also used on vehicles made by the Leland Car company. 

Also, Bob Stark told me that was the color.

I have a 2002 scout with 1500 miles on it. Just put new battery in the bike. Having starter problems. The starter zinges but woun’t ingage. Do I have a ground problem or what?
