Most people adjust the position of the cylinders so the intake manifold aligns with the intake nipples. This may not be the best way to get the push rods to be centered on the valve stems and the valve covers to be centered on the stools. It seems difficult to get all of these aligned correctly. However, if you use the o-ring valve covers, they usually do not leak even if the alignment is not exact. The original valve covers often leak unless they align with the stools and have new leather gaskets.
