We have been using the kevlar clutches over in the west for a few years now, have one in my Scout and one in my Chief as well. Having ridden both original and aftermarket clutches the difference is chalk and cheese. The  Kevlar is smooth and releases the same all the time, my old original was sometimes grabby and it s release point moved around depending on the temp. We run Valvoline 20w 50w in the engine and the primary and everything runs smooth and beautiful.

My scout has an original King Clutch and the Chief has Jerry Greer version. can’t tell the difference between them. Change the primary oil every time I change the engine oil. Primary/gearbox comes out looking like it went in.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
I’m running the King brand clutch and have had no problems.  For those pulling a sidecar or who want what is probably the best set-up in the world: http://www.quainter.nl/www.quainter.nl/clutch_Indian_twin.ht ml  I don’t know how much the QUA clutch costs but it is probably double a King clutch or more.  QUA also offers clutches for Indian Four.  This company is in the Netherlands.  Does anyone have any experience with the QUA clutch?

    Hi,
I found the price for the QUA clutch.  For the Chief it is $325.00.  For the Four it is $480.00.  Prices include shipping.   Here is the other web-site:
http://quainter.home.xs4all.nl/   I looked around on the web and I didn’t find anything bad about the QUA clutch other than the price.  The King brand clutch also has good reviews.
